基礎英語1A Writing: Learning about Conjunctions and other fun stuff

Hello everyone, Today we are going to learn how to use conjunctions correctly, but what's a conjunction? Let's watch this great video and find out what a conjunction is.





That was a great video, yeah? The video comes from a series called School House Rock. I watched School House Rock every Saturday morning when I was a boy.

Now, let's do page 55 in our textbook..


After that, let's practice some more with Q Online Practice. From the drop down  menu choose "Unit 3".


Next, let's rewrite the first draughts of our paragraphs about a job we like.


Your second draught is due on Sunday 3 June at 6 pm.

Hello everyone,
Today we are going to continue working on our second task. First let's do Quizlet.

Now let's read some stories about some important places by Shibaura Institute of Technology students.

OK, now it's your turn. Write a paragraph about your important place. Your paragraph must be 100 words or more. Use the Writing Style sheet to help you format your e-mail and document correctly. Please send your paragraph to me by e-mail by 6 pm. Wednesday 30 June. Also, please take a picture of your important place and bring it to class on a USB stick next week.

Hello everyone,
Today we are going to start our second task. First let's review last lesson. Please click the link..
Now let's look at an image that shows why I like to be a teacher.


The image is in the shape of an apple because apples are a symbol of knowledge. Also, an apple is a traditional gift. Sometimes students give their teachers an apple. So, why do I like to be a teacher? look at the image and answer the question.
Now please read my paragraph.

A good job for me

          Teaching is a good job for me. I want to be a teacher for the rest of my life. A teacher works with people, and a teacher helps people to learn. A teacher learns too. I like to learn. A teacher plans and presents lessons. A teacher makes materials for lessons. I like to make presentations, and I like to make materials for lessons because I like to be creative.  I like to see students smile when they understand. I like to see the results of my work. A teacher can have long holidays. I like to travel, so I need long holidays. Teaching is the very best job for me.

英語総合1A Global Issues Unit 6: Individualism and Midterm Exam Study Guide


Hello everyone! Today we are going to talk about Individualism. Next week is the Mid-term Exam. Please look at your study guide below.
The test covers units 1-5 pp. 2-21. The test has 3 sections.









Section 1: Vocabulary (10 points). Study the vocabulary in your study guides

· 6 matching questions J-E
· 4 fill-in the blank questions

Section 2: Remembering information from the textbook (12 points).

· 5 short answer questions (write 2 or 3 words)
· 1 chose the true statement question.
Important points to remember:

  • Keys to overcoming culture shock
  • Things that increase culture shock
  • Words and phrases that express Japanese culture

There was a picnic table on Ward's Island in Toronto. One day, when I was in Grade 6, I ate lunch there with my father and my two brothers. It was raining. We enjoyed talking. After lunch we took the ferry back home. It's one of my best memories.

What is culture shock? Here are some sentences about culture shock from space alc:
